Play the Ninja Gaiden Sigma demo get stuff in the final version

Posted by Aaron on Monday, June 4, 2007

Man Team Ninja and Tecmo are awesome! Not only are they giving PS3 owners an awesome version of Ninja Gaiden but they are doing something that will make the final version of the game last even more. All you need to do is download and play the Ninja Gaiden Sigma demo from the Playstation Store and when you get the retail version of Ninja Gaiden Sigma and it will detect how much of the demo you have played and it will reward you with Yellow Essence. Yellow Essence is the in-game form of currency that can be used to purchase items and power-ups for your weapons. So get downloading the demo(if you haven’t already. If you haven’t then shame on you lol 😛 ) and starting playing the Ninjas out of it!

Nintendo & Delta team up to provide free Nintendo DS game demo downloads at JFK International Airport

Posted by Aaron on Tuesday, May 15, 2007

Via Press Release:

GAME ON! DELTA AND NINTENDO PROVIDE TRAVELERS ACCESS TO FREE VIDEO GAME DEMOS

Nintendo DS download program lands at JFK International Airport for peak summer travel season

NEW YORK, May 15, 2007 – As global travelers get ready for an active summer travel season, Delta Air Lines and Nintendo are teaming up to provide customers access to free video game demos for the Nintendo DS™ portable gaming system during their down time at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. Today, on-the-go Nintendo fans of all ages can download interactive demos and sample a variety of new games for free to help pass time as they prepare for their flights.

Through this service, travelers can easily and wirelessly download video game demos at no cost by bringing their portable Nintendo DS video game systems with them when they travel to or through New York-JFK. Travelers stand within a few feet of one of the four DS Download Stations located in Delta Terminals 2 and 3 at JFK and follow the simple download instructions. Within a few seconds, a temporary demo version of a popular Nintendo DS game transmits wirelessly to the Nintendo DS. Game demos available for download include Brain Age™: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day, Elite Beat Agents™, Cooking Mama™ and Lara Croft Tomb Raider®: Legend. Demos are updated periodically and will showcase everything from brain training to action games, appealing to baby boomers and seniors, and to teens and kids.

The service also is available in Delta terminals at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

“Delta is excited to partner with Nintendo, makers of some of the most popular video games of all time, to provide yet another innovative entertainment offering to our global travelers,” said Joan Vincenz, Delta’s managing director of Product Marketing. “This program reflects our ongoing commitment to provide a distinctive, enjoyable travel experience – both on the ground and in the air – especially during the busy spring and summer travel season.”

Added George Harrison, Nintendo of America’s senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications: “Partnering with Delta builds on Nintendo’s goal to expand the world of video games to new audiences. Because people typically have a lot of down time, airports are ideal places for people young and old to try out free new game experiences and see what they like.”

This airport technology addition is one of many changes Delta is making to improve the travel experience for customers. Earlier this year, Delta announced that beginning this summer it will offer HBO content and popular programs on select worldwide flights. The new programming will be available through Delta’s new two-class, domestic transcontinental aircraft featuring all-leather seating in both first class and coach. On these refurbished aircraft, every customer has a front row seat to great entertainment with Delta’s state-of-the-art, digital in-flight entertainment – boasting movies, live television, music and games – available on demand at every seat. The airline’s new standard in domestic transcontinental flying will be available to all passengers traveling on select Delta flights over four hours (or more than 1,750 miles), including those from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to cities including Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Seattle and others, beginning this month.

This year, Delta also continues updating its international BusinessElite class with a similar, industry-leading entertainment system on its current fleet of 75 aircraft flying international routes. And, beginning in 2008, Delta plans to be the first U.S. airline to offer its international business class customers a true lie-flat seat in its BusinessElite® cabin on ultra long-haul flights to Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.

About Delta

With more than 60 new international routes added in the last year, Delta is adding international flights at a faster rate than any other major U.S. airline and is a leader across the Atlantic with flights to 32 trans-Atlantic destinations. To Latin America and the Caribbean, Delta offers more than 600 weekly flights to 58 destinations. Delta’s marketing alliances also allow customers to earn and redeem SkyMiles on nearly 15,000 flights offered by SkyTeam and other partners. Delta is a founding member of SkyTeam, a global airline alliance that provides customers with extensive worldwide destinations, flights and services. Including its SkyTeam and worldwide codeshare partners, Delta offers flights to 462 worldwide destinations in 98 countries. Customers can check in for flights, print boarding passes and check flight status at delta.com.

PlayStation Store Updated Today!

Posted by Jay on Thursday, May 3, 2007

The U.S. PS Store saw a huge update today. Unfortunately, Calling All Cars was nowhere to be found, but the other things available are sure to make up for it (for this week, at least). The biggest addition was the ability to play original PlayStation games on your PS3, and the pretty good list of games compatible with this feature. Super Rub A Dub and Gauntlet II were also added. Here are more details on the update:

  • Super Rub a Dub. Starter pack – free, full version – $7.
  • Gauntlet II – $7
  • PS1 games (all playable on the PS3) – 2Xtreme, Crash Bandicoot, Destruction Derby, Jet Moto, Jumping Flash, MediEvil, Rally Cross, Syphon Filter, Tekken 2, WipeOut. – $5.99 each
  • Game Trailers: Super Stardust HD, Rampart, Blacksite: Area 51
  • Movie Trailers: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End

Note that if you already downloaded the PS1 games for your PSP, you do not need to pay for them again, but you will have to re-download them. What are you guys planning to get?

New Heavenly Sword Info: Demo Confirmed

Posted by Jay on Saturday, April 28, 2007

Over at PSU, they did an interview with SCEA Santa Monica producer Kyle Shubel. He touched upon a lot of interesting info, most notably that a demo of the game will hit before the full game is released. When that will be, however, we don’t know. Here are more details from the interview:

  • The game will run at 720p, 30 fps.
  • There will be no online multiplayer as this is a strictly single person game.
  • There will be some integration with HOME.
  • Most of the enemies will be human, but there will be “surprises”
  • “There is a gladiator style arena fight that just rocks.”
  • Some environments planned are snowy hills, riverbeds, barren desert, shrines nestled in the mountains and a castle city amongst waterfalls.
  • He wouldn’t comment on how long the game will be (in terms of playtime), but did hint that there would be some unlockables and bonus features to increase the replay value of the game.

You can read the full interview here

Calling All Cars! Comes out May 3rd on the PSN

Posted by Aaron on Thursday, April 26, 2007

Well I had my hopes up that Calling All Cars! would be released on the PSN today but it’s not. Coming from the man himself David Jaffe:

CALLING ALL CARS- FIRST REVIEW IS UP!

Here’s a link:

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/783/783536p1.html

But here’s the gist:

8.5/10!

Very happy with this first review.

Swamped right now but will wright more about what it’s like to get reviews, wait on reviews, get stressed and elated about reviews in a few days, when the other site reviews hit on Friday. But for know, three things:

1- Yah! 8.5 for a game that took 11 months and cost very little AND let us do the work we LOVE but still- for the MOST part- live normal lives (although some members of the team gave up SOOOO much time to get some aspects of the game working, so to them: THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!)….and the best part is, 9.99 for what IGN- at least- says is fun. How can you beat that? We’re very happy!

2- Game is NOT OUT TOMORROW. It is out May 3rd. I am very sorry about this but we’re still in format, chasing a few bugs and we don’t want the game out until it’s bug free. But it WILL be out 5/3! I will let you guys know when it clears format.

Ok guys, heading out to dinner with the family. Will talk to you guys soon. 8.5! Sweet!

David
