PlayStation Network Tickets Coming Soon

Posted by Jay on Tuesday, May 8, 2007

Are you a PS3 owner who is too young to have a credit card, and therefore can’t buy anything from the PS Store? Well there might be some good news for you in the near future, although it is only slated for Japan at this moment. They’re called PlayStation Network Tickets.

These tickets will be available for purchase at local convenience stores, with ticket values available in 1,000, 3,000, 5,000, and 10,000 yen. Think of them as gift cards for the PS Store. No word yet on if something similar will be released for other territories, but I wouldn’t bet against it. Pre-paid cards seem more useful and secure to me than having your credit card info in your console.
